Jae Marie’s Journeys: Cardiff

After a 7 hour bus trip, our group arrived in Cardiff, the capital of Wales.

I managed to make a huge dent in homework, finishing about 200 pages of reading for 2 of my classes, fixing my resume, and finishing a writing sample to apply for an internship this summer.

The castle I just put a down payment on.

Although the hostel was extremely clean, and served a great breakfast, we woke up the next morning and found out that the hostel owners and our program director had a little trouble, but we didn’t let that stop us from enjoying a tour of the city, a trip to a castle, and a boat trip down the harbour.

On the way back to Newcastle, we stopped at one of those living museums, that show us what life was like hundreds of years ago. It was pouring rain and freezing, and of course the museum was outdoors. We ended up riding the way back with no heat on the bus and wet socks and shoes.

No idea what this building was, but it was beautiful.
Despite all of the rain, hostel problems, and not really having much to do in the city, it is an experience I can say I would have never had if it weren’t for this program. Add it to my list of places I can say I’ve been.
Until next time… from me and the new squad.
