Do you want to lose weight, travel the world, save money or find love? Start the roaring 20’s off right! With a few days left in the year, now is the time to start thinking about your resolutions. 365 days is a long time, but you can make it if you think about a few techniques to get you through.
The Buddy System
Write down everything you want to achieve. Set a date to check back in to make sure you’re on track. Consider getting a friend in on the action. If you have that push to keep you going when things get tough, the two of you will end the year checking items off your list.
The Million Dollar Goal
Be realistic. It’s good to be optimistic, but if you make your goal too unobtainable, you might be discouraged along the way. Instead of saving a million dollars this year, make your resolution to simply save a specific percentage of your paycheck.
Where Have You Been?
Document your progress. When you can see a difference, you’ll be more inclined to keep going. It’s also a fun way to recap at the end of the year to see how far you’ve come. Start a blog or social media account so others can join your journey too. If you get there before the end of the year, keep it going.
Drown it Out
Don’t listen to others. Many people often say you don’t have to wait for the new year to make changes. While that’s true, it doesn’t mean you have to wait until March to make changes. Don’t listen to other people. You can’t please everyone, so you might as well just live your life the way you want to.
It’s going to be tough. You will have set backs. Remember, through all of the struggles you will face, the feeling you’ll have when you can cross your resolution off of your list will be all worth it.
Until next time…
