2020 has certainly been a ride, and I sure am thankful to have made it this far. New Year’s Eve is my favorite holiday of the year, and with everything happening this year, I’d love to celebrate another year around the sun, in a safe way. I’ve been thinking, how exactly can I avoid crowds in NYC while still giving 2021 the welcome it deserves.
Celebrate with the Stars
Every year I look forward to the ball drop and performances in in Times Square. This year’s event going virtual and socially-distanced, and as I sit on my couch, I plan to still tune in to see what they come up with.
Go All Out
You don’t have to go out to go all out. You can still make fun cocktails (or cocktails) and hors d’oeuvres for yourself or your immediate family. Go all out on a smaller scale. Pick a color scheme, blow up balloons with confetti, get dressed up to stay at home. Play some games like charades or do some karaoke. Be sure to check out Pinterest for some recipes too! Grab the little hotdogs, whip up a dip or some desserts, sport those 2021 glasses and toast at midnight.

Take It Online
Going virtual has been the theme of this year, so why stop now? Hook up a zoom or FaceTime to the TV and countdown with friends and family all over the country. Send out an invite ahead of time so others without plans can mark their calendars now.
Chill Out
If you’re looking to do something more low-key, think about some self care. Write down your resolutions, curl up with a good book, some chill tunes and get cozy with a glass of wine of cup of tea.

No matter how you choose to welcome 2021, make sure you stay safe, distanced and masked up!
Until next time…
