Lookbook: Winter Staples

If you haven’t noticed by now, I love a good photoshoot outside with nature as my backdrop. As I mentioned in my style section post on fall staples, I’d be back at Queens County Farm for the Winter Escape. We went on one of the last weekends in 2021 after the holidays and there was no crowd, so we had plenty of time for frames!

In winter, I love an oversized sweater to throw on with a pair of tights or leggings. Something off the shoulder or turtlenecked is usually my go-to, and I typically belt it off to cinch the waist. I always have cold hands, so a matching scarf and glove set is always on my checklist before I leave the house. This time, I went for a neutral cold shoulder sweater, sparkling footed tights and chunky heeled lace up boots.

I love a cute peacoat to keep warm. I’ve always wanted a red one and this was the perfect pop of color I needed to get in the winter spirit.

FUN FASHION TIP: Take advantage of layering up in winter for a quick outfit change. If you can brace the cold for a few seconds to take a photo, remove an outer coat to capture your inner outfit. Whether you’re taking pics on a city corner, at an event or in a park, you’ve got an opportunity to shoot a new look.

What are your wintertime essentials?

Until next time…
