It has been a great summer! The weather was warm, the days were long, and after more than a year, the world is starting to open up. I took a quick trip to the Golden Coast to soak in those west coast rays.
I landed at LAX on a warm summer night, ready to explore all that Los Angeles had to offer. Day 1 started with a trip to Worldwide Tacos. If you’re a fan of Insecure on HBO, you might remember it as the taco spot Issa and Nathan stopped at in season three. Just like on the show, the tacos take hours to make. There is no shortage of options to choose from, from chicken to beef, fish, teriyaki, jerk and more. While we waited, we headed on another Insecure-inspired adventure to The Dunes, where she lived. From there, we took a trip to the coast and stopped at Venice Beach to watch the sun set. Finally, our food was ready, so we headed back, but not before running into a classic LA car show. We saw everything, including a car literally transform and ride on just two wheels.

The next day we headed back to the beach to Santa Monica Pier. Just like a west coast Coney Island, were games, rides, food and views.
Of course we hit the touristy spots too, including a drive through the hills to get as close as possible to the Hollywood Sign and a stroll down the Walk of Fame. We were even invited into a screening of Matilda at the Chinese Theater.

That clearly wasn’t enough California for me, as just a few days later, I boarded another plane back to LA. Stay tuned for part two!
Until next time…
